Air Plant Pineapple Workshop || $55

Come join us at Friends & Faire and learn to make your own pineapple!  You will have the supplies and use of the tools needed to bring home two finished air plant pineapples.  Each little pineapple base is hand shaped, stamped on the bottom with a custom word of choice, baked, painted and then topped with a real air plant.  Gift boxes with tissue and air plant care instructions will be provided to bring your creations home.

All materials are included and class will be held at Friends & Faire at 1980 Main st. #4 Wailuku, HI 96793 (Behind Native Intelligence- free parking available).  BYO beer or wine to sip on and enjoy while you get creative! (21 and over)

Instructor's Bio: Kelly Lau is a pineapple enthusiast, and owner of Pineapple Express Maui where she creates air plant pineapples.  Kelly has been obsessed with pineapples her whole life and has collected them for over 20 years.  There was an "Aha" moment when she discovered that certain air plants look like the tops of pineapples, and then was even more surprised to find out that air plants, aka Tillandsia, are in the same family as pineapples; bromeliads.  It is also great that the air plants are very easy care and completely safe to travel and fly with as there is no soil. When she's not knee deep in clay and paint, Kelly enjoys beach walks, canoe paddling and pickleball.
