About The Event

Don’t lose your face mask again!

Using a face mask has become the new norm due to Covid-19.  To protect ourselves and others, we’ve been using face masks daily while out and about, shopping and going to work.  Even children are using masks and will need to use it when they return to school.  Because of this, many of us are trying to purchase (or make) face masks that match our outfits or have a new one for each day of the week.  However, am I the only one that loses their face mask or walks out of the car realizing I need to reach back in and grab my mask since it was left behind?

We want our Keiki to be prepared for back to school and our fellow friends to always be ready with their masks when they need it.  Let’s make beaded face mask straps/lanyards to hold our masks around our neck.  No losing it because we put it down or because of stuffing it into a bag.

This fun make & take will have you making and creating an easy face mask lanyard with ribbon and a simple wire-wrapping technique to attach your selected beads.  Select the beads that will match your favorite face mask or choose your favorite colors.  It’s up to you.

Tools will be provided for you to use and materials needed to make your creation will be available.  You’ll be making one face mask strap/lanyard to attach to your mask.  Bring your favorite mask with you so you can mix and match your beads to make an accessory you’ll love to wear.

This make & take is for both men & women (boys & girls ages 8 and up).  Please be sure to practice all social distancing protocol and bring a mask to wear while taking part in the workshop.  Tools will be sanitized before and after each use and each person will have a little kit to create their mask strap/lanyard.  Can’t wait to see you there!
