About The Event

Join us at Friends & Faire and learn the basics of crochet. Keola from LIHILIHI MAUI will teach you about different yarns, crochet hooks, and basic notions.  Learn some basic stitches including: chain stitch, slip stitch, single crochet, half double crochet, and double crochet. Once all the basics are covered, you will start and complete your first project: a super simple cup cozie. Keola will also help you find some great resources to keep your crochet journey strong!

All materials are included and class will be held at Friends & Faire at 1980 Main st. #4 Wailuku, HI 96793 (Behind Native Intelligence- free parking available).  BYO beer or wine to sip on and enjoy while you get creative! (21 and over)

Instructor's Bio: Aloha! My name is Keola and I grew up here on Maui. My husband & I are extremely blessed to be able to raise our family here. I have always had an appreciation for handmade crafts and love seeing projects come together and put smiles on people's faces. Although I learned the basics of crochet from my mom as a child, I consider myself self-taught because I didn't pick up a hook and yarn again until my 30's. Over the last decade I've been able to hone my skills and make projects big & small from amigurumi dolls, blankets of all sizes, to my latest obsession - crocheted cardigans & sweaters. I have found crochet to be relaxing and therapeutic in many ways and I look forward to sharing my love for crochet & yarn with you!
