Island Art Party Pops Up at FRIENDS & FAIRE: Maui’s Most Colorful Night Out

If you’ve ever wanted to sip, snack, and paint your way through a tropical evening on Maui, Island Art Party is the experience you didn’t know you needed. With roots in Kihei and a mission to make creativity accessible and fun, Island Art Party has become a beloved staple in Maui’s creative scene—offering laid-back, joy-filled paint parties where everyone leaves with a masterpiece and a smile.

We’re thrilled to be hosting Island Art Party pop-ups at Friends & Faire right here in Wailuku. Whether you're an art lover, a first-timer, or just looking for a different kind of night out, these events are a perfect fit for all ages (8+) and skill levels.

A Little Background: Where Art Meets Aloha

Island Art Party started as a walk-in paint-and-sip studio in Kihei, blending tropical flair with a welcoming, no-pressure atmosphere. When the studio closed in December 2023, longtime fans were heartbroken—but thanks to new collaborations with other local businesses, the party lives on! Now fully mobile, IAP brings the art to you at venues across the island.

Classes are taught by enthusiastic “Partistas” (Party + Artist = Partista!), who walk everyone through the painting step-by-step. No experience necessary- just show up ready to have fun.

Here’s a pro tip: If you're the first to book any of the upcoming public classes, you get to choose which painting everyone creates! Whether you're into sunset seascapes, tropical florals, or underwater scenes, it’s your chance to make the party your own—without the cost of a private event.

Have a group of friends? Coordinate together and reserve your spots early to lock in your favorite painting. You can even let the wine flow and bring your favorite pupu platter- Island Art Party is all about keeping it casual and creative.
